Wakeboard fins
Wakeboard fins are made in a variety of lengths and styles
in order to accommodate a variety of riders with different skill levels.
The fins can be found as the following:
• Long-based – Long-based wakeboard fins
release better. This gives the wakeboard a loose, almost snowboard-like,
feel when you are riding through the water. These fins are also able
to hold up a little better on rails and ramps.
• Molded fins – These are not actually
fins, but channels in the board that act like fins. They are able to
hold up well on rails and ramps. These fins are known to be pretty slippery.
• Multi-fins – These wakeboard fins work
together on a single wakeboard in order to help an aggressive wakeboarder
stay up entering the wake and through the wake.
• No fins – After a rider has achieved
a certain level of expertise, there are many who just don’t need
fins anymore and enjoy the freedom of movement that comes with this
advanced skill.
Wakeboard fins are important items to have if you are a beginner, but
it could take some time to figure out which kind of fin best complements
your style of boarding.
