Wakeboards

Wakeboards are often new and can be a bit complicated to a beginner. It is because of this that some do not even understand which foot they should lead with while wakeboarding.

The lead foot on wakeboards can be determined by any of the following tests:

• Falling test – You need to find somebody you trust for this test. Stand with your eyes closed and your feet together. Ask your friend to gently push you from behind. When you step out to catch yourself, notice which foot you use. This most likely will be the best foot for you to lead with when you are on wakeboards. You may want to ask your friend to do this test on you when you are not expecting it, so that you do not influence the foot you plan to use.

• Pants test – The saying goes that “he puts his pants on one leg at a time.” Well, as long as you are like most people, you probably do to. Pay attention to the foot you stick into your pants first. This is most likely going to be the dominant leg for wakeboards.

Neither of these methods are exactly fool-proof. The fact is that sometimes people might have a dominant foot for one activity and still use a different foot for another activity.

Despite this, you should definitely be able to get a better understanding of which foot might be best for you to use on wakeboards. Give yourself some time to practice this way, but if it does not feel right, feel free to switch legs and see if you perform better.
